Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi with his wife Sonia Gandhi and President Giani Zail Singh were entering Raj Ghat to pay homage to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd October 1985. Suddenly Rajiv Gandhi noticed someone hiding on a tree probably a terrorist. Rajiv Gandhi quietly told President Giani Ji and Sonia Gandhi not to look up and walk slowly. It was a terrible security lapse and many senior police officers were suspended, later reinstated.
