When
Rajiv Gandhi was a student, the enthusiastically
took part in postering during election
campaigns. Once during the local civic
polls in the capital he alongwith
his buddy Jagdish Tytler were busy
in the crowded Paharganj area, plastering
the walls with posters. And when they
felt hungry at the dead of night,
instead of returning home for food,
both had their ‘dinner’
at a local “dhaba” at
Rajiv’s suggestion, sitting
on rickety chairs and benches.
A people’s leader of the people,
by the people and for the people.
