Gandhi on a visit to Lakshadeep noticed
a whale gasping for breath as she entered
the lagoon and was trapped. He immediately
jumped in the sea and called for men
and ropes, to push the whale back into
the sea. Others joined it readily and
the grateful whale thrashed back into
the Indian ocean.
